The Spiritual Journey Isn’t Linear: Why Detours Can Be Holy

We love a tidy testimony: problem → prayer → breakthrough. But most real faith stories are more like a long hike with weather, detours, and unexpected views.

Non-linear doesn’t mean unfaithful. It often means human.

Detours can be holy when they

  • expose false images of God
  • teach you to live without control
  • deepen compassion for others
  • form endurance and tenderness

God is not only found at the destination. He is often found on the side of the road, meeting you in the “not-yet.”

If you feel lost in your season, spiritual direction can offer a map and a companion. First session free: Work With Me.
