If you’ve never been to spiritual direction, it can feel mysterious. Let me demystify it. A session is usually simple, spacious, and surprisingly human.
1) We arrive
We begin by settling—maybe a moment of silence, a breath, a short prayer. This is your nervous system hearing, “You can stop striving for a minute.”
2) You share what’s present
You bring what’s real: a decision, a grief, a question, a relationship, a recurring fear, a longing you can’t quite name. You don’t need to curate it. We start with what’s most alive.
3) I listen and ask gentle questions
My role isn’t to fix. It’s to help you notice patterns, invitations, and places God may be meeting you. Often the question underneath the question is where the Spirit is working.
4) We listen together for God
Sometimes we hold silence. Sometimes we pray. Sometimes we sit with a short Scripture passage slowly—letting it meet you rather than using it as a hammer.
5) We close with clarity and kindness
You might leave with a small next step, a practice, or simply a deeper sense of peace. The goal is not “productivity.” The goal is attentive love.
